More, ummm… stuff.

Posted by Kishkumen in General

After the rousing success of my last post, I figured I’d continue in the same train of thought.

One of my favorite sites to visit weekly is Post Secret, where hundreds of people send in post cards containing their secrets. Some of these are posted online, for all to see. There has been no end of positive feedback about this, about how people feel the weight lifted off their shoulders at seeing their secret is no longer just theirs. I’ve wanted to send stuff in, but I fear I am not an artist by any means… So, after my last post, and thinking about how nice it would be to sometimes have a totally anonymous place to vent or share, I thought maybe an online version of Post Secret would be a nice thing to have. Then, people could post whatever they want, anonymous or not, and let the world see what’s going on. Then, they might even have the guts to send their friends or others that are involved in their lives to the site to see what’s going on. Discussions about the secrets… All sorts of things. Personally, I think it’s a fun idea. I just need the software required to run it… I was thinking of a submission system like bash.org, with a discussion system like Slashdot. I can get the code for Slashdot, but don’t know how easy it would be to configure on this server…
So yeah, just throwing the idea out. Who knows, maybe it will happen.

I think this would actually be a really cool idea if you were able to figure out the back end. Who knows, it could totally become the next big internet craze, and then I would know someone famous. :)
